Gear drives:
The torque and rotary motion is generated between the primary mover and the equipment for the purpose of power generation. Few things which can point out towards the gear box repair are: alignment, installation, loading, maintenance and tripping of power transmission products. If any of these products are not working up to date then this means that the gear box needs some repair. For smooth operation, make sure that the gear box is in perfect working condition.
Un Uniform Loads:
Surface distress or gear fracture is often caused due to improper functioning of the gear box. Therefore, if you want to avoid the gear tooth box fracture then make sure that power system is not experiencing any power deflection problems.
Classifications of Gear Failure:
The failure of gear box is further sub-divided in to four main classes: breaking and wear, surface fatigue or pitting and plastic flow.
Surface Fatigue and Pitting:
In power transmission equipment the repeated surface on surface movement could cause surface fatigue. The stress is the main reason behind the pitting of the equipment.
Plastic Flow Wear:
The gear tooth may have a depression due to the contact area of the plastic wear continuously. This wear and tear is generally occurred in the gear box.
